Super-fun Survey for Summer School

Hey-O! Good summer, to ya!

Alright moms, dads, kids, grandparents..whoever else might be seeing this little goody...

I have a huge favor to ask.

I know it's been about 6 months (or more!) since my last post but it's time to start looking towards the fall and possible changes in our year ahead.

So whether you're in my 5th-6th grade class this coming year or in 5-8 LA, I need your attention!

I have a survey for GIRLS ages 10-15 that needs attention ASAP for a class I'm taking but also for a class I'll be teaching in the fall. It'll be an elective for girls in grades 5-8 and it focuses on confidence, self-esteem issues and best yet, how to achieve it in middle school. Who knew?

If you know a little lady who fits the description (in or out of MSAS) and you wouldn't mind helping me collect needed data for my research, I would appreciate it very much.

It's simple, quick, and anonymous. With only 10 questions, this survey can add key statistics to my research and lend a hand in making a vital change for girls at this time in history.

You can find the survey for the girls here!

Also, parents! If you have a daughter at this age, would you mind taking a minute to fill out this survey here!

Whatever you're doing, wherever you are, know that I'm thinking about and praying for you and your families right now and on a daily basis.

Thanks for your help! Working together to make the world a better place!

Well, it's been awhile...

Note from Mrs. Oltman:

I can't believe Christmas has come and gone and I haven't updated our blog since October! Where does the time go? As cliche' as it is, this year is flying past. I've enjoyed the students this year so much and the time home with Nora on Mondays has been an incredible blessing.

As we wrap up the 2nd Quarter I will be planning our class trip for the end of April. We will be visiting Mount St. Helens and Ape (ice) Caves! My brother is a pastor at the church school we will be staying at that week so he will be leading our worships each evening and will be there to give us the royal tour of his town.

Our biggest fundraiser is coming up in February at Winterfest. We will once again run the jail and sell sodas and bottled water. If you are able to donate drinks to our booth please let me know so I can determine how many to bring myself.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support and willingness from parents each year and this one is no different.

Thank you for your support!

Happy NEW Year!

ITBS Test Week

This week we tested! It's a good thing we rested. Our fingers were aching and pencils kept breaking but somehow we managed to finish.

John 5:17 says, "My Father never stops working, and so I keep working, too!"

Below you can see that students worked diligently on skills as architects. Teams were formed to come up with a structure made from only toothpicks and mini marshmallows. Seeing the finished products made me very proud of the kids. Some were extraordinary and ALL were unique. ;)

Are you playing tricks or is this really WEEK SIX??!

Time flies when you're having fun! Or when you're so busy you can hardly tell what time it is!

This week we will have some incredibly excellent activities taking place. Tomorrow we will visit Eagle Springs and its tenants for a fellowship including game playing, jokes and stories, drawing and painting, and much more! It's always exciting to allow students to create friendships with the elderly folks of our community and this experience is no different.

Thursday, we will have guests on our lawn. Miniature horses! The cutest little beasts of the field I've ever seen. There will be a lesson in care and raising of the sweetie pies as well as a kart ride for anyone who wants one!

I will certainly post photos for y'all to see!

As always, be kind to each other!
